Booking.com's ranking is influenced by 7 key factors: review score (most important), availability rate, commission level, cancellation rate, booking conversion rate, content score (photo and description completeness), and price competitiveness against similar properties.

For most independent hotels, joining Genius (offering 10–15% discount) makes sense if your ranking has room to improve. The increased visibility typically more than compensates for the discount — but analyse your ADR elasticity first. High-ADR luxury properties should be more cautious.

MMT heavily weights review score and response rate, similar to Booking.com. However, MMT places stronger emphasis on photo quality and quantity, and their "Smart Deals" promotional programme has a disproportionate positive impact on visibility in the Indian market.
